Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT) has appointed Peter Griffith as Chief Financial Officer, effective October 20, 2026. Griffith will also join the company's board of directors and report to Roger Lynch, chairman and chief executive officer.

Griffith succeeds Paul Ruh, who will remain in an advisory role through the end of the year to support the transition.

Most recently, Griffith served as Executive Vice President and CFO of Amgen, a position he held after joining the biopharmaceutical company in 2019. At Amgen, he was involved in significant acquisitions and strategic investments alongside capital allocation and balance sheet management.

Prior to Amgen, Griffith served as President of Sherwood Canyon Group, LLC, a private equity and advisory firm. Before that, he spent more than two decades as a partner at EY, where his roles included Global Vice Chair of Corporate Development and Global Managing Partner of Operations and Finance. Earlier in his career, he was a Managing Director and Head of the Investment Banking Division at Wedbush Securities Inc.

Lynch said Griffith's "deep experience spanning global financial management, private equity, and investment banking will be invaluable" as the company works to improve performance.

Griffith holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business and serves on the advisory board for USC's Schaeffer Center for Health Policy and Economics.
