Marqeta Inc. (NASDAQ: MQ) announced the appointment of Patti Kangwankij as chief financial officer, effective February 9, 2026. Kangwankij will succeed Mike Milotich, who became CEO in September 2025.
Kangwankij brings over 20 years of experience in technology, financial services and payments. She currently serves as CFO at real estate technology company Roofstock. Previously, she held the role of Head of Payments Finance and Strategy at Stripe, where she helped scale operations during growth. Before that, she spent nearly 15 years at JPMorgan Chase & Co., starting in investment banking and later serving as Managing Director and CFO for the Co-Branded Credit Card and Merchant Services divisions.
"She brings deep payments industry expertise, and her leadership will be a critical asset as we continue to execute our strategy, scale our platform, and enable customer innovation in card issuing," said Milotich in a statement.
Kangwankij said she was "honored to join Marqeta at such a pivotal moment" and expressed excitement about the company's technology foundation and customer approach.
The Oakland, California-based company operates a card issuing platform that processed nearly $300 billion in annual payments volume in 2024, according to the press release. Marqeta is certified to operate in more than 40 countries.
