Mach Industries names Gary Hobart as chief financial officer

Mach Industries, a defense manufacturing company based in Huntington Beach, California, appointed Gary Hobart as chief financial officer, according to a company statement.
Hobart brings over 30 years of experience in aerospace and defense executive management, investment management and corporate finance to the role at the company founded in 2023.
Prior to joining Mach Industries, Hobart served as chief financial officer and chief transformation officer at Terran Orbital Corporation (NYSE: LLAP), a manufacturer of small satellites for defense and intelligence applications. During his tenure at Terran Orbital, he led the company through a public listing in March 2022 and a strategic sale to Lockheed Martin in October 2024. Under his financial leadership, Terran Orbital scaled its backlog to over $2.8 billion, raised over $500 million in capital and increased production capacity fivefold.
Before Terran Orbital, Hobart spent 20 years as an investment manager with Beach Point Capital, a $19 billion investment management firm, and Trust Company of the West. He specialized in private equity and special situation investing, overseeing transactions across aerospace and defense, industrial and other sectors. Earlier in his career, Hobart worked as an investment banker with Wasserstein Perella & Co.
