MSC Industrial Supply Co. (NYSE: MSM) announced that Martina McIsaac will succeed Erik Gershwind as chief executive officer effective January 1, 2026. McIsaac currently serves as the company's president and chief operating officer.

Gershwind, who has served as CEO for 13 years, will retire from the executive role but remain on the board as non-executive vice chair. McIsaac will also join the board of directors upon assuming her new position while maintaining her role as president.

The Melville, New York-based industrial distributor said the transition reflects its commitment to succession planning. McIsaac has overseen operations including sales, field service, category management, procurement, pricing, supply chain, sustainability and information technology.

"We are excited for Martina to serve as MSC's next leader," said Mitchell Jacobson, the company's non-executive chairman. "The Board has worked closely with her over the past three years and has tremendous confidence in her."

McIsaac joined MSC in 2022 as executive vice president and chief operating officer before being promoted to president and COO in 2024. She previously spent nine years with Hilti Corporation, where she served as region head and CEO of Hilti Inc., leading the North America organization.

Prior to Hilti, McIsaac held leadership roles at Avery Dennison for 14 years, including vice president and general manager of the Performance Polymers Division. She holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Western University and a master's degree in international business from the University of South Carolina.

MSC Industrial distributes metalworking and maintenance, repair and operations products and services to industrial customers throughout North America, according to the company's press release statement.
