July 7, 2026 11:00 AM EDT

Lyft, Inc. (Nasdaq: LYFT) has appointed Senthil Padmanabhan as Chief Technology Officer, with his start date set for July 20, 2026. Padmanabhan will report to CEO David Risher, according to a company statement.

Padmanabhan joins from eBay, where he served as VP of Engineering and previously held the title of Technical Fellow. At eBay, he oversaw the company's core engineering platform, applications, and infrastructure. During his tenure, he led an AI initiative that the company said resulted in 10 times more deployments and six times more experiments compared to four years prior, along with reduced deployment cycle times.

"Lyft has a clear purpose, a product millions of people love and rely on every day, and a team that genuinely cares about getting it right," Padmanabhan said. "My job is to make sure the Lyft ceiling keeps rising – using technology to multiply what we can achieve and unlock what wasn't possible before."

In his new role, Padmanabhan will oversee the engineering functions that support Lyft's rider and driver platforms.
