Legend Biotech names Carlos Santos as chief financial officer

Legend Biotech Corporation (NASDAQ: LEGN) appointed Carlos Santos as chief financial officer, effective immediately. Santos replaces Jessie Yeung, who served as interim CFO since January 2025.

Santos brings experience from pharmaceutical and technology sectors across multiple regions including the United States, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. At Legend Biotech, he will oversee financial operations with a focus on maintaining balance sheet strength and achieving profitability.

"His deep financial expertise and operational acumen will be invaluable as we continue to drive the success of CARVYKTI, our CAR-T cell therapy franchise, and attain companywide profitability in 2026," said Ying Huang, CEO of Legend Biotech, according to the company's press release.

Prior to joining Legend Biotech, Santos served as CFO for US Oncology at AstraZeneca. During his ten years at AstraZeneca, he also held positions as acting area vice president for Latin America and area CFO for the region. He previously spent six years at Alcon, a Novartis division, in CFO roles for European markets and Brazil, and nearly a decade in financial leadership positions at Intel Corporation in Europe and Latin America.

Santos holds an MBA in Corporate Finance from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom. The Somerset, New Jersey-based company develops CAR-T cell therapy treatments, including CARVYKTI for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma, which it develops and markets with Johnson & Johnson.
