LB Pharmaceuticals Inc (NASDAQ: LBRX) appointed Minako Pazdera as general counsel, the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company announced Tuesday.
Pazdera brings more than 25 years of experience in corporate governance, intellectual property, strategic corporate transactions and compliance to the neuropsychiatric drug developer.
"Dr. Pazdera has broad expertise encompassing both financial and strategic transactions, as well a deep understanding of intellectual property law and corporate compliance," said Chief Executive Officer Heather Turner in a statement.
Before joining LB Pharmaceuticals, Pazdera served as general counsel and corporate secretary at Kardigan. She previously held the same roles at Carmot Therapeutics, where she led the legal function during the company's dual track IPO and strategic transaction process that resulted in Roche's acquisition of Carmot for up to $3.1 billion in 2024.
Pazdera also worked in strategic and intellectual property roles at Lyell Immunopharma, Sangamo Therapeutics and Genentech. She holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Carnegie Mellon University, and a B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
LB Pharmaceuticals is developing LB-102, an oral small molecule treatment for schizophrenia and bipolar depression. The company reported positive Phase 2 trial results for LB-102 in acute schizophrenia patients in early 2025 and plans to advance the drug into Phase 3 clinical trials for acute schizophrenia and Phase 2 trials for bipolar depression.
