Kroger names Nate Faust as chief eCommerce officer

Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) announced that Nate Faust will join the company as Executive Vice President and Chief eCommerce Officer, effective September 1, 2026.

Faust co-founded Jet.com, the mass merchandise eCommerce marketplace, where he served as Chief Operating Officer and led merchandising, fulfillment, and customer service. He also launched the Smart Cart model, which offered customers lower prices for more efficient shopping behavior.

After Walmart acquired Jet.com in 2016, Faust served as Senior Vice President of Walmart U.S. eCommerce Supply Chain, overseeing a transformation of the customer delivery experience. Most recently, he worked at Olive, building a waste-free delivery and returns platform for brands including Rhone, Cynthia Rowley, and Rent the Runway.

Kroger CEO Greg Foran said in a statement: "Nate built businesses that redefined what customers expect from eCommerce, built on speed, value and the experience of getting exactly what the customer ordered. That is the standard we are holding ourselves to as we grow our digital business."

Faust holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S.E. in Operations Research and Financial Engineering from Princeton University.
