Kailera Therapeutics names Nur Nicholson as chief technology officer

Kailera Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq: KLRA) announced the appointment of Nur Nicholson as chief technology officer, effective Aug. 31, 2026.
Nicholson brings nearly three decades of experience in technical operations, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. She previously served as chief technical operations officer at Apellis Pharmaceuticals, where she led the company's transition from a clinical-stage organization to a commercial-scale enterprise.
Prior to Apellis, Nicholson held the role of head of global supply chain and vice president of North American business operations at Galderma, overseeing supply chain operations for a $10 billion dermatology and aesthetics organization active in more than 100 countries. Earlier roles include director of global supply chain for the pharma franchise and director of global sales, operations planning and data management at Alcon Pharmaceuticals, a Novartis company.
Nicholson holds an executive MBA from Texas Christian University and a bachelor of science in chemistry from Middle East Technical University.
Kailera, based in Waltham, Mass., is a clinical-stage biotechnology company with a pipeline focused on obesity treatments. Its lead candidate, ribupatide injection, is currently in global Phase 3 trials as a once-weekly injectable. The company also plans to begin a Phase 3 program for an oral formulation of ribupatide in the first half of 2027, according to a statement from CEO Ron Renaud.
