K92 Mining names new CEO as Medilek succeeds Lewins Oct. 1

K92 Mining Inc. (TSX: KNT; OTCQX: KNTNF) announced a leadership transition in which David Medilek will become Chief Executive Officer and Director, effective October 1, 2026, succeeding John Lewins, who will move to the role of Non-Executive Chair of the Board.

Medilek currently serves as K92's President and Chief Operating Officer. He joined the company in 2019 and has previously held the roles of President and Vice President, Business Development and Investor Relations. Before joining K92, he worked as an equity research analyst at Macquarie Group Limited, a mining investment banker at Cormark Securities Inc., and a mining engineer at Barrick Gold Corporation.

Concurrent with the CEO transition, Chris Kinver, currently Vice President, Projects and Engineering, will be appointed Chief Operating Officer, also effective October 1, 2026. Susan Scheepers has been appointed Vice President, Human Resources, effective August 1, 2026, having previously served in an acting capacity in that role.

Anne Giardini will transition from Independent Chair of the Board to Lead Director as part of the changes.

Lewins has served as a founding director of K92 since 2016, initially as Chief Operating Officer before becoming CEO in August 2017. During his tenure, the company moved from a mine restart in late 2016 to commercial production in early 2018, and completed Stage 2, Stage 2A, and substantially completed the Stage 3 Expansion. As of June 30, 2026, 98% of Stage 3 Expansion capital had been spent or committed, with the project remaining on budget. A 1.2 million-tonne-per-annum process plant has been fully operational since December 2025.

According to the company's announcement, Medilek stated his immediate priorities include executing the Stage 3 Expansion ramp-up, advancing the Stage 4 Expansion, and continuing exploration at the Kainantu site in Papua New Guinea.
