Johnson & Johnson names Tom Cavanaugh to lead Innovative Medicine unit

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: JNJ) announced that Jennifer Taubert will retire as Executive Vice President, Worldwide Chairman, Innovative Medicine after more than 21 years with the company.
Tom Cavanaugh, who currently serves as Company Group Chairman, North America, Innovative Medicine, will succeed Taubert in the role. Cavanaugh will also join the Johnson & Johnson Executive Committee, effective September 1, 2026.
Taubert joined Johnson & Johnson more than two decades ago and held roles spanning global commercial strategy, acquisitions, and therapeutic area development before becoming Worldwide Chairman of Innovative Medicine. During her tenure, the Innovative Medicine segment grew to more than $60 billion in annual revenue.
Cavanaugh joined Johnson & Johnson in 2017 and has held senior leadership positions in oncology, immunology, and global commercial strategy. Before joining Johnson & Johnson, he spent nearly 15 years at Celgene in roles covering global product development, medical affairs, marketing, and regional management in Spain and the United States.

The company said Taubert and Cavanaugh will work together to ensure a smooth transition.
