International Battery Metals names interim CEO after resignation
International Battery Metals Ltd. (TSXV: IBAT)(OTCQB: IBATF) has appointed Garrett Galloway as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, following the resignation of Joseph Mills from the CEO role and the company's Board of Directors.
Mills's resignation took effect July 21, 2026. The company said he stepped down to spend time with his family, travel, and pursue other opportunities. Mills will move to an advisory role and remain available to the company through September 19, 2026 to support the transition.
Galloway has served as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development at the company since May 2025. He has more than 15 years of experience in the energy industry, including roles in mergers and acquisitions, finance, and debt and equity capital markets.
Before joining International Battery Metals, Galloway served as Vice President of Finance at QuarterNorth Energy from August 2021 to May 2024, where he was involved in the company's divestiture to Talos Energy, a transaction that returned approximately $1.9 billion in capital to shareholders. Prior to that, he held finance and corporate roles at Fieldwood Energy LLC, Midstates Petroleum, and Dynamic Offshore Resources. He began his career at BOK Financial in reserve-based lending. Galloway holds a bachelor's degree in business and finance from the University of Alabama.
Chairman John Burba said the company continues to pursue project opportunities in the Smackover region and the Middle East, as well as evaluations across North and South America, and that established priorities remain unchanged.
