Immix Biopharma Inc. (NASDAQ: IMMX) appointed Michael Grabow as chief commercial officer to lead commercialization efforts for its NXC-201 therapy targeting relapsed/refractory AL amyloidosis.

Grabow previously served as head of commercial operations at Chimerix Inc., where he led the go-to-market strategy and launch of MODEYSO, an orphan drug that received accelerated approval in 2025 for H3 K27M-mutant diffuse midline glioma. Jazz Pharmaceuticals acquired Chimerix for $935 million after the drug's new drug application received priority review from the FDA.

Prior to Chimerix, Grabow worked as executive vice president and chief business officer at Spectrum Pharmaceuticals, which was acquired by Assertio. He also held sales and marketing positions at Amgen. Grabow has participated in more than 10 commercial drug launches during his 25-year career in biopharmaceuticals.

"Michael's appointment will accelerate deployment of NXC-201's one-and-done approach, which we believe will be the first approved therapeutic in relapsed/refractory AL Amyloidosis," said Gabriel Morris, chief financial officer of Immix Biopharma, according to the company's press release.

NXC-201 is a BCMA-targeted chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy designed to treat AL amyloidosis, a rare blood disease that causes organ failure. The therapy has received Regenerative Medicine Advanced Therapy designation and Orphan Drug Designation from the FDA, as well as Orphan Drug Designation from the European Medicines Agency.

The company estimates approximately 37,270 patients in the United States have relapsed/refractory AL amyloidosis, with the patient population growing at 12% annually. Currently, no FDA-approved therapies exist specifically for this condition.

Immix is conducting a multi-center Phase 1/2 clinical trial called NEXICART-2 evaluating NXC-201 in relapsed/refractory AL amyloidosis patients.
