HIVE Digital names HPC veteran as revenue chief, tops $1M daily

September 10, 2026 6:02 AM EDT

HIVE Digital Technologies Ltd. (TSX: HIVE) (NASDAQ: HIVE), through its subsidiary BUZZ High Performance Computing Inc., appointed Mark Volk as Senior Vice President, Revenue, according to a company statement. Volk will report to Craig Tavares, President and Chief Operating Officer of BUZZ HPC.

Volk brings approximately three decades of experience in AI, high-performance computing, cloud and enterprise infrastructure. Before joining BUZZ HPC, he served as CEO of CiphexAI Corporation. Prior to that, he spent five years at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, where he held roles including General Manager of HPC and AI Commercial for the Americas. During his tenure, HPE's HPC and AI business grew approximately 425% to more than $2 billion in revenue. At IBM, he managed a portfolio of approximately $1.2 billion and helped launch the company's first HPC Cloud SaaS offering. He also previously served as Director of Worldwide HPC Sales and Marketing at Platform Computing.

In his new role, Volk will lead go-to-market strategy across enterprise, government, sovereign AI, hyperscale, research and academic markets, covering GPU-as-a-Service, colocation and hybrid AI solutions.

The company also disclosed that on August 21, 2026, it exceeded $1 million in daily revenue from combined Bitcoin mining and GPU cloud operations. Since that date, HIVE has produced an average of approximately 12 Bitcoin per day, representing roughly 2% of global Bitcoin network production, while GPU cloud operations have generated approximately $100,000 in average daily revenue.

President and CEO Aydin Kilic said Volk had worked as a consultant with the company for approximately nine months, during which the GPU cloud demand pipeline grew to more than $1 billion in total contract value potential. Year to date, the company said it has closed more than $600 million in total contract value for GPU cloud contracts, including three- and five-year agreements. Total contract value is not a recognized measure under U.S. GAAP and does not guarantee future revenue.

HIVE also said it plans to wind down Bitcoin mining at its Swedish facilities, which represented less than 5% of global daily revenue in August, and evaluate repurposing that infrastructure for HPC and AI applications.
