Gunnison Copper names defense sector veteran as CFO

Gunnison Copper Corp. (TSX: GCU) (OTCQB: GCUMF) (FSE: 3XS0) has appointed Jennifer Hays as Chief Financial Officer, effective October 12, 2026, according to a company statement.

Hays brings approximately 20 years of finance experience, most recently serving as CFO of PacSci EMC, a defense and space company operating within Ralliant Corporation (NYSE: RAL). During her tenure there, she helped secure a $27 million Defense Industrial Base Consortium award to expand production capacity, and the company's booked backlog grew to $1 billion.

Prior to that role, Hays spent approximately 17 years at Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: INTC), holding senior finance positions across government contracting, manufacturing, global supply chain, and mergers and acquisitions. She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Arizona State University.

Fabio Rocha, who served as Interim CFO, will transition to Senior Director, Accounting and Reporting, a promotion from his previous role as Director, Accounting and Reporting.

Craig Hallworth, President and CEO of Gunnison Copper, said Hays brings "a rare combination of CFO leadership, public company finance experience and direct experience within the U.S. defense industrial base."

Gunnison Copper is a copper developer and producer based in Phoenix, Arizona, focused on the Cochise Mining District in southern Arizona. Its flagship Gunnison Copper Project has a measured and indicated mineral resource of over 846 million tons at a total copper grade of 0.33%, containing 5.19 billion pounds of copper. A preliminary economic assessment completed in March 2026 estimated an NPV of $2 billion, an internal rate of return of 23%, and a payback period of 3.9 years.
