Gravitics names Philip Wong as its new CFO
Gravitics, a Seattle-based orbital infrastructure company, has appointed Philip Wong as Chief Financial Officer, according to a press release from the company.
Wong brings more than 30 years of experience in aerospace, communications, enterprise technology, and data infrastructure. He previously held a financial strategy role at Viasat, where he focused on satellite, network, and space infrastructure investments, and has held senior positions at Pure Storage and Seagate Technology. In his new role, Wong will oversee finance, capital strategy, and growth initiatives, reporting directly to CEO Colin Doughan.
"Philip has spent 30 years deploying capital across satellite, network, and space infrastructure. That's exactly what Gravitics' next phase needs," said Doughan.
Wong's appointment coincides with changes to Gravitics' broader leadership team. Jim Royston, formerly CEO of OmniTeq and previously president and CEO of both SPACEHAB (NASDAQ: SPAB) and Astrotech Corp. (NASDAQ: ASTC), joins to lead technical architecture and engineering. Michael Bowker has moved from corporate development into a Chief Business Officer role overseeing business development, government relations, and partnerships. Andy Jones, who previously led lander programs at Astrobotic Technology, now heads engineering, program management, supply chain, and manufacturing.
Gravitics is currently executing a Strategic Funding Increase, or STRATFI, contract with the U.S. Space Force and is developing a cargo delivery system with Axiom Space as its first commercial customer. The company's programs include the Orbital Carrier and Viper OTX, designed to provide orbital transfer capabilities for defense, civil, and commercial operators.
