GrabAGun names John Swanagon as chief technology officer

GrabAGun Digital Holdings Inc. (NYSE: PEW), an online retailer of firearms, ammunition and accessories, has appointed John Swanagon as Chief Technology Officer, effective September 1, 2026, according to a company statement.
Swanagon will report to Chief Executive Officer Marc Nemati and will oversee technology strategy, software engineering and artificial intelligence initiatives across GrabAGun.com and PEW Logistics LLC.
Swanagon has more than 30 years of technology leadership experience spanning healthcare, financial services, payments, telecommunications and media. Most recently, he served as Chief Digital and Technology Officer at UnitedHealth Group's Optum Financial, where he managed a $200 million annual capital and operating budget covering healthcare, banking, payments and lending operations.
Earlier in his career, Swanagon served as Head of Engineering for SiriusXM's Connected Vehicles business, leading a 278-person engineering organization that supported more than 25 global automotive brands. He also held senior roles at JPMorgan Chase, American Credit Acceptance, Bread Financial and Avaya, where he spent 16 years advancing from Senior Software Engineer to Director of Software Engineering.
Swanagon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from American University and is the named inventor on U.S. Patent #8,510,471 B1, with nine patent applications submitted over his career.
