Flow Sciences names Michael Gesser as chief financial officer

Flow Sciences Inc. appointed Michael Gesser as chief financial officer, the company announced. Gesser, who has served on the company's board of directors since 2021, will continue his board role while assuming executive responsibility for finance, accounting, tax, treasury, financial planning and analysis, and investor relations functions.

The appointment comes as the laboratory containment solutions company continues expansion efforts, including its Research Triangle Park office in North Carolina, which opened in 2025.

Gesser brings more than 30 years of financial leadership experience in life sciences, pharmaceutical and medical device sectors. His previous chief financial officer roles include positions at Acorda Therapeutics Inc. (NASDAQ: ACOR), Osmotica Pharmaceutical, Tergus Pharma, BioMedomics and SunTech Medical.

"Michael's appointment as CFO is a natural evolution of his already-significant contributions to Flow Sciences," said Jonathan Mann, chief executive officer, according to the press release. "His deep financial expertise, his experience navigating both public and private company environments, and his long-standing familiarity with our business and strategy make him ideally suited to lead our financial function as we continue to grow."

In his new role, Gesser will oversee financial strategy, capital structure management, budgeting, forecasting and compliance. He will also support the company's growth initiatives, including expansion of its containment solutions portfolio.

Flow Sciences develops containment solutions for laboratories, manufacturers and research organizations handling hazardous materials. The company operates globally with more than 30 years in the industry, according to the press release.
