Fidelity Bank names Charles Hangen as chief risk officer
Fidelity Bank announced Charles Hangen has joined the Pennsylvania-based institution as senior vice president and chief risk officer.
Hangen will oversee the bank's enterprise risk management framework and lead efforts to identify and mitigate competitive, regulatory, and technological risks, according to a company statement. The role involves developing policies and procedures to address risks in the evolving financial landscape.
"Charles brings a wealth of expertise in risk management and strategic leadership," said Daniel J. Santaniello, president and CEO of Fidelity Bank. "His deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and proven ability to mitigate complex risks will be instrumental as we strengthen our foundation."
Hangen graduated from Bloomsburg University in 1994 and completed the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking and the Wharton Leadership Program. He was recognized as a Northampton Area Konkrete Kids Education Foundation Distinguished Alumni Inductee in 2019.
Fidelity Bank operates 21 full-service offices across Lackawanna, Luzerne, Lehigh, and Northampton Counties in Pennsylvania, along with additional commercial and wealth management locations. The bank reported providing over 5,960 volunteer hours and more than $1.5 million in donations to nonprofit organizations in 2024.
