Fate Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: FATE) has appointed Jamie Harrell as Senior Vice President of Market Development and Commercial Operations, effective October 12, 2026, according to a company statement.
Harrell, who brings more than 25 years of commercial leadership experience, will oversee commercial and market development strategy across the San Diego-based company's autoimmunity and oncology programs. His responsibilities include developing physician engagement strategy and expanding access to the company's off-the-shelf CAR T-cell therapies in outpatient and community settings.
The role was newly created to support Fate Therapeutics as it advances its pipeline toward commercialization, including FT819, which is being evaluated in RECLAIM-LN, a Phase 2 trial in refractory lupus nephritis, and FT839, in a Phase 1/2 trial covering multiple autoimmune indications including rheumatoid arthritis.
Harrell most recently served as Vice President of Marketing and Commercial Operations at Aurinia Pharmaceuticals, where he worked on the first oral therapy approved for lupus nephritis. Before that, he was Chief Commercial Officer at Avalo Therapeutics and Vice President and General Manager of Specialty Pharmaceuticals at Covidien, where he led a 350-person commercial organization.
Earlier in his career, Harrell held senior roles at MedImmune, Centocor, and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer. He has contributed to the commercialization of more than 25 products, including Lovenox, Remicade, and Synagis, each of which surpassed $1 billion in annual U.S. sales.
"Jamie is an accomplished commercial leader," said Bob Valamehr, President and Chief Executive Officer of Fate Therapeutics. "His in-depth knowledge of the autoimmune landscape and years of direct interaction with rheumatologists...will be invaluable as we drive to shape a new treatment paradigm for autoimmune disease."
Harrell holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Samford University.
