Expedia Group Inc. (NASDAQ: EXPE) announced Derek Andersen will serve as Chief Financial Officer beginning May 11, 2026. Andersen will lead the company's global finance organization and report to CEO Ariane Gorin.
Andersen replaces Scott Schenkel, who will step down after 16 months in the role. Schenkel will remain through the company's first quarter earnings call on May 7, 2026, and depart May 16, 2026.
Andersen previously served as CFO of Snap Inc. from May 2019 through April 2026, and held the position of Vice President of Finance at Snap since July 2018. Before joining Snap, he worked at Amazon.com Inc. from March 2011 to June 2018 in various finance leadership roles, including Vice President of Finance for Amazon's digital video business.
Earlier in his career, Andersen held senior finance positions at Fox Interactive Media, including Senior Vice President of Finance and Business Operations for IGN, and Vice President of Finance. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Acadia University and an MBA from the University of California, Berkeley's Haas School of Business. He is also a CFA charterholder.
"Derek is the right financial executive to step into this role as we continue to advance our strategy as a global travel marketplace," said CEO Ariane Gorin. "His financial acumen, strategic mindset, and deep understanding of technology-driven businesses will be important as we continue to innovate and deliver sustainable long-term growth while further expanding margins."
Andersen will be based in Seattle. The information comes from a company press release.
