Everspan Group, a specialty property and casualty insurance platform owned by Octave Specialty Group Inc. (NYSE: OSG), announced two leadership changes effective immediately.
Darwin Lucas will become president, succeeding Steve Dresner. Lucas has served as chief underwriting and reinsurance officer since 2023, a role he will continue to hold alongside his new position. As president, Lucas will oversee operations and strategic execution while working to expand the platform's underwriting capabilities and market presence.
Nicole Crowley has been promoted to general counsel from her previous role as assistant general counsel. Crowley joined Everspan in 2024 after serving as products counsel for Coaction Global and brings over a decade of insurance law experience to her new position.
"Darwin's experience, operational expertise, and strong understanding of the specialty insurance market position him well to lead Everspan into its next chapter of growth," said Claude LeBlanc, president and chief executive officer of Octave Specialty Group.
Lucas said he was honored to step into the role at what he called an exciting time for the company. Departing president Dresner expressed pride in the company that has been built under his leadership.
Everspan Group operates nationwide on both admitted and non-admitted bases as a specialty property and casualty insurance platform. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Octave Specialty Group, which describes itself as a global specialty insurance firm.
