Digimarc Corporation (NASDAQ: DMRC) announced the appointment of Ron Thomas as chief revenue officer, effective August 3, 2026.

Thomas will report to President and Chief Executive Officer Paul Carreiro and will oversee sales, customer success, revenue operations, solution advisory, partnerships, and go-to-market strategy.

Thomas joins Digimarc from Smartcat, an AI-focused enterprise software company, where he also served as chief revenue officer. Prior to Smartcat, he held senior roles at data.ai, Oracle, Ariba, and Eloqua. At data.ai, he helped grow the company from roughly $100 million to more than $150 million in annual recurring revenue before a private equity exit. He was also at Eloqua from pre-IPO through its $800 million acquisition by Oracle. Thomas holds a B.S. in Economics from Rutgers University.

"Digimarc has reached a point where commercial execution is every bit as important as innovation," Carreiro said. "Ron's mandate is to scale our world-class commercial organization which translates those advantages into predictable, scalable growth."

"My priority is to listen to our customers, partners and employees, sharpen our commercial focus, and build a disciplined, customer-centric revenue organization that delivers predictable growth and long-term value," Thomas said.

The appointment follows Carreiro assuming the role of President and CEO in July 2026, according to the company's statement.
