Defence Therapeutics names Dr. Amie Phinney as CEO

Defence Therapeutics Inc. (CSE: DTC) (OTCQB: DTCFF) (FSE: DTC) announced the appointment of Dr. Amie Phinney as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective August 1, 2026.



Founder Sébastien Plouffe, who previously served as CEO, will transition to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board, where he will focus on corporate strategy, capital markets, business development, and governance.



Dr. Phinney joined Defence Therapeutics in July 2025 as a Strategy and Business Advisor and was appointed to the Board of Directors in September 2025. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Research from the University of Basel and an MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management.



Her prior experience includes scientific and strategic roles at Abbott and AbbVie, Chief Scientific Officer of Lakeside Discovery, Senior Director of Partnerships and Business Development at adMare BioInnovations, and co-founder and inaugural CEO of Block Biosciences.



In connection with the leadership transition, the company granted a total of 600,000 incentive stock options. Dr. Phinney received 200,000 options, with 100,000 vesting immediately and 100,000 vesting on the first anniversary of the grant date, exercisable at $0.40 per share for five years. An employee received 200,000 options on the same terms. Plouffe received 200,000 options vesting immediately, exercisable at $0.40 per share for ten years.



Defence Therapeutics is a Montreal-based biotechnology company developing oncology therapeutics using its proprietary Accum technology platform, with applications across antibody-drug conjugates, radiotherapeutics, and targeted biologics.
