Datavault AI names Frank Deo CTO of its Acoustic Sciences Division

July 24, 2026 10:10 AM EDT

Datavault AI Inc. (NASDAQ: DVLT) has appointed Frank Deo as Chief Technology Officer of its Acoustic Sciences Division, according to a company statement.

Deo previously served as Vice President of New Media Technology at API Media, where he led product engineering for the ADIO platform, one of four technology brands within the division alongside WiSA, Event Citadel, and API Media. He will report to David Reese, President of the Acoustic Sciences Division.

His mandate includes unifying the division's engineering stack across its four operating companies, expanding the use of AI-assisted development tools, and standardizing engineering processes. The stated objectives also include simplifying the division's underlying architecture and reducing operating costs.

Deo has more than 30 years of experience in media, data, and platform technologies, with prior senior roles at Imagine Communications, Cadent, Johnson & Johnson, and Comcast. He holds a Technical Emmy Award and is an inventor on 31 issued U.S. and international patents.

"This division has real technology and real deployments behind it, and my job is to make the engineering faster and cleaner," Deo said. "That means one engineering stack instead of four, AI-assisted tooling on the repetitive build work, shared processes across every team and an architecture designed to scale efficiently as the division grows."

The appointment comes as Datavault AI evaluates a potential dividend spin-out of the Acoustic Sciences Division into a stand-alone public company, a plan the company disclosed on May 7, 2026. That transaction remains subject to board approval, a definitive agreement, closing conditions, and any required regulatory approvals.
