D-Wave Quantum Inc. (NASDAQ: QBTS) announced that Chief Financial Officer John Markovich will retire and resign from his position effective September 2, 2026.
Greg Golkov, the company's senior vice president of finance, will assume the role of acting CFO and principal financial and principal accounting officer.
The company stated that Markovich's resignation was not the result of any disagreement on matters related to D-Wave's business, operations, accounting policies, financial statements, or internal controls.
D-Wave CEO Dr. Alan Baratz credited Markovich with playing a role in taking the company public in 2022 and raising over $900 million in capital during his five years with the company.
Golkov has served as D-Wave's senior vice president of finance since May 2023, overseeing accounting, SEC reporting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and tax. He brings more than 25 years of finance and accounting experience across publicly traded and private equity-backed technology companies. Prior to joining D-Wave, he served as vice president and controller at Butterfly Network, Inc. from October 2020 to March 2023, and as senior vice president of finance at Kaseya from August 2018 to October 2020.
