Cue Biopharma names Dominic Borie as CMO and R&D head

Cue Biopharma, Inc. (Nasdaq: CUE) has appointed Dominic Borie, M.D., Ph.D., as Chief Medical Officer and Head of Research & Development, according to a company statement. He will report to President and Chief Executive Officer Shao-Lee Lin, M.D., Ph.D.
Borie brings more than two decades of experience in biotechnology and pharmaceutical research and clinical development. Most recently, he served as Strategic Advisor to the CEO and Board of Kyverna Therapeutics, where he previously held roles as President of Research & Development and founding Chief Executive Officer. Earlier positions include senior leadership roles at Horizon Therapeutics, Genentech, Amgen, and Roche. Before entering industry, he served as Director of the Transplantation Immunology Laboratory at Stanford University and practiced as a transplant surgeon in Paris, France.
In connection with the appointment, Cue Biopharma's Compensation Committee approved inducement equity awards consisting of a non-qualified stock option to purchase 63,000 shares of common stock and 31,500 restricted stock units. The option carries an exercise price equal to the closing price of the company's common stock on the Nasdaq Capital Market on July 13, 2026. Both awards vest over four years, subject to continued employment.
The company said it expects a Phase 2 data readout for its CUE-221 program in chronic spontaneous urticaria by the end of the third quarter of 2026, and remains on track to initiate a Phase 1 clinical trial of CUE-401 by the end of the fourth quarter. Cue Biopharma recently completed a $50 million private placement to fund continued clinical development.
