Comtech names new CFO and general counsel amid segment sale

Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) has appointed Richard Nyren as Executive Vice President of Finance and Amy Rothstein-Hovey as General Counsel, according to a company statement. Both appointments are tied to the anticipated closing of the sale of most of its Satellite & Space Communications segment to Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd., which was agreed upon in June 2026.

Nyren joined Comtech on October 8, 2026, and is expected to become Chief Financial Officer following the filing of the company's Form 10-Q for the first fiscal quarter of 2027, anticipated by December 10, 2026. He will succeed Michael Bondi, who has served as CFO since 2018 and will remain in the role through the 10-Q filing. Nyren previously served as CFO of Aireon and Chief Accounting Officer of Iridium Communications, and brings more than 30 years of finance experience.

Rothstein-Hovey joined Comtech as General Counsel on October 1, 2026, and will become Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary upon completion of the satellite segment transaction. She succeeds Don Walther, who will remain in the role through the transaction closing. Rothstein-Hovey previously served as Chief Legal Officer and Head of Corporate Development at Nexxen International and currently serves as an independent director of Arlo Technologies.

Nyren will be based in the company's Broomfield, Colorado office, while Rothstein-Hovey will be based in its Seattle office, both operating within Comtech's Allerium segment, which focuses on public safety communications infrastructure and software.

The satellite segment sale remains subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
