Comfort Systems USA promotes Trent McKenna to president role

Comfort Systems USA Inc. (NYSE: FIX) announced leadership changes effective January 1, 2026, with Trent McKenna being promoted from executive vice president and chief operating officer to president and chief operating officer.

Brian Lane will continue as chief executive officer of the Houston-based heating, ventilation, air conditioning and electrical contracting services company.

McKenna has served as executive vice president and chief operating officer since January 2022. He previously held various roles at the company including senior vice president and chief operating officer in 2021, and senior vice president and general counsel from 2013 to 2018.

The company also announced that Laura Howell will retire as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary at year-end after more than eleven years of service. Howell will continue as a senior executive advisor in 2026 to assist with the transition.

Rachel Eslicker, currently associate general counsel and assistant corporate secretary, will succeed Howell as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. Eslicker has been with the company's legal team for approximately seven years, serving in her current role since January 2023.

Prior to joining Comfort Systems USA in 2004, McKenna practiced complex commercial litigation at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Houston. He holds a bachelor's degree in English from Brigham Young University and a law degree from Duke University School of Law.

Eslicker previously worked in mergers and acquisitions and capital markets at Vinson & Elkins LLP in Houston. She earned bachelor's degrees in government and history from the University of Texas and a law degree from Duke University School of Law.
