Clover Biopharmaceuticals names Nicholas Jackson president of global R&D

Clover Biopharmaceuticals Ltd. (HKEX: 02197) appointed Nicholas Jackson as president of global research and development and alliances, the Shanghai-based biotechnology company announced.

Jackson will collaborate with Chief Executive Officer Joshua Liang to advance the company's RSV+hMPV±PIV3 combination vaccine candidates and establish partnerships with global collaborators, according to the company statement.

Jackson brings 27 years of experience in vaccine and infectious disease research and development. He previously held leadership roles at GSK, Pfizer, and Sanofi, where he served as head of global research for Sanofi Pasteur. Most recently, he was executive director and CEO of the Novo Nordisk Foundation Initiative for Vaccines and Immunity.

"His extensive experience in leading global cross-border vaccine development and partnerships will be invaluable as we continue to advance our potential best-in-class and first-in-class RSV+hMPV±PIV3 combination vaccine candidates leveraging our validated Trimer-Tag platform," Liang said.

Jackson noted that Clover's combination vaccine candidates recently reported positive Phase I clinical data in older adults. The company's Trimer-Tag platform technology has a clinical safety database of more than 40,000 doses, according to the statement.

Jackson holds a bachelor's degree from Oxford Brookes University, a master's from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and a doctorate in viral immunology from the University of Warwick.
