Classys names Dr. Taek-Soo Kim as new CTO and R&D head

Classys (KOSDAQ: 214150), a South Korea-based medical aesthetics company, has appointed Dr. Taek-Soo Kim as Chief Technology Officer and Head of Research and Development, according to a press release.

Dr. Kim holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University, a master's degree from the University of Southern California, and a Ph.D. from Stanford University, where he specialized in medical imaging technologies including MRI signal processing.

Prior to joining Classys, Dr. Kim served as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group, a group head at Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT), and Chief Strategy Officer at medical AI company Vuno.

The appointment follows Classys naming Jun-oh Yoon, a former Executive Vice President of Samsung Electronics, as CEO last month. The company stated that Dr. Kim's role will focus on developing next-generation products centered on AI, software, and data as part of Yoon's "Next Stage" strategy.

Classys has stated a target of $1 billion in revenue by 2030. The company said Dr. Kim plans to integrate its existing energy-based device technologies with clinical data and AI to develop new products, while incorporating feedback from clinicians and key opinion leaders across global markets into the R&D process.
