Cerrado Gold Inc. (TSX.V: CERT) (OTCQX: CRDOF) has appointed Chris MacInnis as Vice President, Geology, effective immediately, according to a press release from the Toronto-based company.

MacInnis joined Cerrado Gold in March 2023 as Director of Geology and Resources. He has more than 20 years of experience in mineral resource definition and exploration. Before joining the company, he led the Mineral Resource division at GoldSpot, where he worked on AI algorithms for identifying exploration targets. Prior to that, he worked at SRK Consulting as a Senior Geologist, contributing to dozens of 43-101 compliant reports across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. He also previously worked at Datamine Canada, served as an elected board member for the Professional Geoscientists of Ontario, and holds a BSc from St. Mary's University.

CEO and Chairman Mark Brennan said the appointment was "well earned" and noted that MacInnis's experience would support ongoing drill programs at the company's Minera Don Nicolas operation, including a 50,000-meter surface and 20,000-meter underground program, as well as a planned infill drilling program at the Mont Sorcier project in Quebec.

Cerrado Gold also disclosed the issuance of 325,000 restricted share units to eligible participants under its omnibus incentive plan. The RSUs vest in 12 months, with each unit representing the right to receive one common share upon vesting.
