Capital Bank names Jay Como as chief operating officer

Capital Bank, N.A., a subsidiary of Capital Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBNK), has appointed James "Jay" Como III as Chief Operating Officer, according to a press release statement.



Como will oversee enterprise operations with a focus on process modernization, cross-bank coordination, and the application of data, automation, and artificial intelligence.



He joins from T. Rowe Price, where he served as Global Head of Data Governance and Market Data. In that role, he established an enterprise data governance function and introduced AI-enabled tools. Before that, he served as Chief Data Officer of the Finance Data Product Office at Silicon Valley Bank, where he led a multiyear transformation of the bank's finance data, reporting, and technology capabilities.



Steve Poynot, President and Chief Executive Officer of Capital Bank, said Como "brings the operating experience, technical depth, and practical judgment to help us strengthen the systems and processes behind that growth."



Como holds an MBA from Saint Mary's College of California, completed the Securities Industry Institute executive program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Phoenix.



Capital Bank reported $3.9 billion in assets as of June 30, 2026.
