CanAlaska names James Sykes as vice president of exploration

CanAlaska Uranium Ltd. (TSXV: CVV) (OTCQX: CVVUF) appointed James Sykes as vice president of exploration, effective September 21, 2026, according to a company statement.

Sykes brings more than 20 years of uranium exploration experience in the Athabasca Basin. He served as project lead for NexGen Energy Ltd.'s (TSX: NXE) Arrow uranium deposit discovery in 2014 and previously worked for Hathor Exploration and Rio Tinto Canada on the Roughrider uranium deposit. Most recently, he was CEO, president and director of Baselode Energy Corp., now Geiger Energy Corp. (TSXV: BEEP).

Sykes will lead CanAlaska's technical team focused on the Pike Zone discovery and the company's broader Athabasca Basin exploration portfolio. Nathan Bridge, the outgoing vice president of exploration, will move to an advisory role through October 2, 2026.

The company also announced the granting of incentive stock options to certain officers and employees to purchase up to 950,000 common shares, exercisable over three years at $0.31 per share.

CanAlaska holds approximately 375,000 hectares of uranium properties in the Athabasca Basin of Saskatchewan, Canada.
