Brown & Brown names Steve Hearn president of Retail segment

Brown & Brown Inc. (NYSE: BRO) announced that Steve Hearn has been named president of the Retail segment while continuing his role as chief operating officer.
Hearn brings 35 years of industry experience to the expanded role. He will work with the Retail senior leadership team to guide the company's efforts to expand and optimize its global Retail platform.
"Steve is an ideal choice to execute our playbook that is designed to drive excellence, scale and market-leading position," said Powell Brown, president and chief executive officer.
In his dual role, Hearn will oversee global operations and guide the ongoing integration of Accession Risk Management Group. He will split his time between the UK and broader European market, operating from London, and the United States from the company's headquarters campus in Daytona Beach, Florida.
The company stated that initial plans are underway for Hearn's full relocation to Daytona Beach following approvals for required work visas.
Barrett Brown, the previous president of the Retail segment, is taking a personal leave of absence.
Brown & Brown is an insurance brokerage firm with over 700 locations and more than 23,000 professionals globally. The company was founded in 1939 and is headquartered in Daytona Beach, Florida.
