Birchtech promotes Jim Trettel to chief operating officer

Birchtech Corp. (NYSE American: BCHT) (TSX: BCHT) announced the promotion of Jim Trettel to Chief Operating Officer, according to a company press release. Trettel joined the activated carbon technology company in 2014 and previously served as Executive Vice President of Operations.
The newly appointed COO brings 36 years of experience in the dry bulk material-handling industry, including project management and engineering on multimillion-dollar turnkey contracts. In his expanded role, Trettel will oversee corporate operations spanning financial and administrative functions to technical in-field systems for the company's clean air and clean water technologies.
Before joining Birchtech, Trettel spent 21 years in senior leadership positions at sales, systems, and engineering organizations specializing in bulk material handling, where he managed operations across various industry sectors, including coal-fired utilities. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Grove City College.
Richard MacPherson, President and CEO of Birchtech, stated that Trettel "has been an integral part of Birchtech's operational success for many years" and highlighted his technical expertise and commitment to operational excellence as instrumental in scaling both air and water treatment platforms.
Trettel commented on his promotion, saying he is "honored to take on this expanded role" and looks forward to continuing to refine operations while working with research and development experts to deliver solutions for customers.
Birchtech specializes in activated carbon technologies for air and water purification, providing patented SEA sorbent technologies for mercury emissions capture and water purification solutions for removing contaminants including PFAS from potable water and industrial wastewater.
