Barrick Mining Corporation (NYSE: B, TSX: ABX) has appointed Sebastiaan Bock as Chief Executive Officer, Rest of World, effective immediately. Bock will oversee the company's gold and copper operations and projects outside North America, reporting to President and Chief Executive Officer Mark Hill.

Barrick's rest-of-world portfolio spans Africa, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia Pacific, producing more than two million gold equivalent ounces annually. The company said it expects that output to grow by more than 20% over the next three years.

Bock joined Barrick in January 2019 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Africa and Middle East, and was appointed Chief Operating Officer for that region in July 2022. During that period, he led the Lumwana expansion, the resolution of a situation in Mali, record throughput at Kibali, and growth of gold reserves at Loulo-Gounkoto and Bulyanhulu.

Chairman John Thornton highlighted the portfolio's relationship with Chinese partners, including joint mine ownership and co-investment, as a distinguishing factor for the rest-of-world business. Hill described Bock as having experience across operations, finance, strategic planning, geopolitical issues, human resources, and risk management.

"I am excited to accept this new role quite simply because what Barrick does, matters," Bock said in a statement.
