Astrotech appoints Nihanth Badugu as chief operating officer

Astrotech Corporation (NASDAQ: ASTC) appointed Nihanth Badugu as chief operating officer, effective August 13, 2025, according to a company statement.
Badugu, 37, has served as Astrotech's director of program management since August 2023. Prior to joining Astrotech, he worked as new product introduction program manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific from 2020 to 2023, where he led the launch of COVID-19 diagnostic products. He also held the role of senior program manager at PVA Consulting Group from 2017 to 2020.
"Nihanth has been an invaluable asset to Astrotech since joining us in 2023," stated Thomas B. Pickens III, chairman and chief executive officer. "His dedication to operational excellence and program management has significantly advanced our objectives."
Badugu holds a Bachelor of Science degree from York University. In his previous role at Astrotech, he led initiatives focused on operational efficiency and program completion.
The Austin, Texas-based company operates as a mass spectrometry company through several wholly owned subsidiaries, including 1st Detect for security screening applications, AgLAB for agriculture industry analyzers, Pro-Control for industrial manufacturing solutions, BreathTech for breath analysis platforms, and EN-SCAN for environmental testing solutions.
