Associated Banc-Corp (NYSE: ASB) announced that Neil Riegelman will become Milwaukee market president effective April 1, according to a company statement.
Riegelman, currently senior vice president and head of Commercial Banking for Milwaukee and Madison, will assume the additional role while continuing his existing responsibilities. He succeeds John Utz, who has served as Milwaukee market president since 2015.
Utz will transition to focus exclusively on scaling the bank's nationally focused specialty businesses, which he also oversees as executive vice president and head of Specialized Industries.
Riegelman joined Associated Bank in October 2023 to lead commercial banking business development and client relationships for Southern Wisconsin. The bank reported that 2025 was its strongest year for commercial lending and generated the strongest bottom line in company history.
"John's leadership has been instrumental in elevating our Milwaukee presence and building deep connections across the business community," Riegelman said in the statement. "I'm honored to step into this role and continue advancing our commercial strategy in one of our most important markets."
During Utz's tenure as Milwaukee market president, Associated Bank expanded its specialized industries, commercial and corporate banking presence in the region, according to the company.
Riegelman holds a finance degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and serves on the boards of Discovery World and Ducks Unlimited of Milwaukee. He resides in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
Associated Banc-Corp operates as the largest bank holding company based in Wisconsin, with $45 billion in total assets and nearly 200 banking locations across Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and Missouri.
