Applied Energetics names Warren Spector as CFO
Applied Energetics (OTCQB: AERG) appointed Warren Spector as Chief Financial Officer effective January 28, according to a company statement.
Spector previously served as Vice President of Finance since June 2025, where he led initiatives to strengthen financial controls and reporting processes as the laser technology company prepares for potential uplisting to a national securities exchange.
The company specializes in advanced directed-energy and ultrashort-pulse laser technologies for defense applications. Chief Executive Officer Chris Donaghey said Spector's appointment reflects the company's transition from a research-driven organization to a product-focused defense technology company.
In his new role, Spector will oversee finance, accounting, treasury, and reporting functions, including Sarbanes-Oxley compliance preparation and capital markets strategy. He will focus on establishing financial infrastructure and controls expected of an exchange-listed company.
Spector brings experience in senior finance and operating roles across public and private companies, with expertise in capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, and building finance organizations for public-company governance standards. He holds an MBA from UCLA's Graduate School of Management and a bachelor's degree in economics from UCLA. He is also a CPA.
Applied Energetics holds 26 patents and has 6 patents pending for its fiber-based ultrashort pulse laser technologies, which the company says enables size-weight-power reductions compared to traditional continuous wave laser technology.
