Apollo Silver names Steven Thomas as new CFO effective Sept. 1
Apollo Silver Corp. (TSX-V: APGO, OTCQB: APGOF, Frankfurt: 6ZF) has appointed Steven Thomas as Chief Financial Officer, effective September 1, 2026, replacing Chris Cairns, who is stepping down to pursue another opportunity, according to a press release from the company.
Thomas brings more than 30 years of international corporate finance experience, including 15 years as CFO at various mining companies. He most recently served as CFO of Mountain Province Diamonds Inc., stepping down from that role on August 31, 2026. He has also previously held CFO positions at Torex Gold Resources, Goldcorp Inc.'s Canadian operations, and De Beers Canada Inc.
Thomas had served as a director and Audit Committee Chair of Apollo Silver since 2021. In connection with his CFO appointment, he resigned from the company's board, including his roles as Lead Independent Director and Chair of the Audit Committee, effective August 31, 2026. Jocelyn Thompson has been named Lead Independent Director, and Jackie Przybylowski has been appointed Chair of the Audit Committee.
Cairns will remain with the company in a transitional capacity through September 2026 to assist with the handover.
Colin Sutherland, President and CEO, said in the statement that Thomas "brings decades of financial leadership to the position, including his experience as CFO of Torex Gold Resources in Mexico."
