American Vanguard Corporation (NYSE: AVD) announced that Matt Horwath joined the company on October 1, 2026, as Chief Financial Officer, succeeding David Johnson in a planned leadership transition.
Horwath brings nearly 20 years of finance and accounting experience. He most recently served as CFO of Kustom US, Inc., and previously held the CFO role at FARO Technologies, Inc., where he contributed to a strategic transformation that led to the company's acquisition by AMETEK, Inc. in 2025. CEO Dak Kaye said of the outgoing CFO: "For 18 years, David has been a steady and trusted leader of our finance organization, helping guide American Vanguard through a period of significant growth and global expansion, including acquisitions across Latin America, Australia, and the biologicals space, and most recently, securing long-term financing that supports our transformation."
As part of the transition plan, Johnson will continue with the company as Chief Accounting Officer until March 2027, after which he will remain employed by American Vanguard in a non-executive position until September 2027.
American Vanguard develops, manufactures, and markets specialty and agricultural products, including crop protection and nutrition, turf and ornamental management, and commercial pest control solutions.
