American Healthcare REIT names Aric Chang as CFO, effective Oct. 2026

American Healthcare REIT, Inc. (NYSE: AHR) has appointed Aric Chang as Chief Financial Officer, effective October 1, 2026, according to a company statement.
Chang joins from Public Storage (NYSE: PSA), where he currently serves as Chief Financial Officer, Real Estate. At Public Storage, he has overseen approximately $16 billion of capital deployment across acquisitions, development, lending, and mergers and acquisitions.
Chang succeeds Brian Peay, who is retiring after 10 years as CFO. Peay will remain in the role through September 30, 2026. Peay joined AHR in 2016 and served through a period that included the company's listing on the New York Stock Exchange.
Before Public Storage, Chang held senior finance roles at several NYSE-listed REITs, including Rexford Industrial, where he served as Senior Vice President of Investor Relations and Capital Markets, and Rouse Properties, where he managed corporate finance and debt restructuring. He also served as Executive Director at J.P. Morgan Asset Management from 2015 to 2022, where he was a member of the real estate investment committee on a platform with more than $80 billion of real estate assets under management. Earlier roles included senior REIT research positions at Green Street Advisors and Oak Hill REIT Management.
Chang holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
AHR is a real estate investment trust that owns and operates a portfolio of healthcare properties, including senior housing communities, skilled nursing facilities, and outpatient medical buildings in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Isle of Man.
