American EcoFuels names Jeff Saxinger as chief technology officer

American EcoFuels Inc. (OTC: AEFI), a synthetic fuel technology developer based in Southlake, Texas, has appointed Jeff Saxinger as Chief Technology Officer, according to a company statement.

Saxinger, a Professional Engineer, brings more than 32 years of engineering and project-management experience, including 13 years in shop fabrication engineering. His background covers mechanical, process, electrical and instrumentation disciplines, along with experience in gas-processing plants involving separation, compression, amine sweetening, refrigeration and CO₂ removal.

His recent work includes serving as project manager on a greenfield sour-gas processing plant with sulfur recovery and as Project Engineering Manager for the refurbishment of a steam methane reformer hydrogen-generation plant. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.

Brent Nelson, Executive Chairman of American EcoFuels, said in the statement: "Jeff brings decades of practical engineering, fabrication, project-management and gas-processing experience. We believe that experience will be extremely valuable as we move our technology from engineering and development into physical systems capable of producing fuels for testing."

The company also announced that Travis Yakimishyn is assuming the role of Senior Electrical Engineer, shifting to a more hands-on position focused on design, development and testing of electrical solutions for the company's Gas-to-Liquids and Coal-to-Liquids platforms.

American EcoFuels stated its intention to pursue the applicable ASTM International qualification pathway for its synthetic aviation fuel. The company said any use of its fuels by commercial or military customers would remain subject to applicable ASTM specifications, regulatory requirements and customer approvals.

The company indicated it plans to pursue potential long-term fuel offtake discussions with commercial airlines, aircraft manufacturers, engine manufacturers, fuel distributors and U.S. Department of Defense procurement programs, contingent on progression through fuel testing and qualification processes.
