Adeia Inc. (Nasdaq: ADEA) has appointed Dipti Vachani as chief executive officer, effective October 12, 2026. Vachani will also join the company's board of directors on the same date, according to a company statement.
Vachani succeeds Paul E. Davis, who informed the company in May 2026 of his intention to step down as CEO and board member to focus on his health. Davis will serve in an advisory capacity through the end of 2026 to support the transition.
Vachani most recently served as senior vice president and general manager of the Automotive Business Unit at Arm Limited, a role she held from 2018 to 2026. Prior to Arm, she served as vice president and general manager of Intel Corporation's Internet of Things Group from 2015 to 2018. She also held a vice president and general manager role at Skyworks Solutions beginning in 2013, and previously held various positions at Texas Instruments, Inc., ending as vice president and general manager of Single Core Processors.
Vachani served on the board of directors of Axcelis Technologies, Inc. from 2022 to 2025. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University and an Executive M.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
"The Board's Transition Committee conducted a rigorous search process and considered an exceptional field of candidates," said Dan Moloney, chairman of the board.
"Adeia's award-winning portfolio of more than 14,250 worldwide patent assets, its deep culture of invention, and the momentum the team has built provide a remarkable foundation for the company's future," Vachani said in the statement.
San Jose, California-based Adeia licenses semiconductor and media technology innovations to companies across chip design and manufacturing, consumer electronics, automotive, digital entertainment, and e-commerce industries.
