AMC Robotics names University of Maryland professor as CTO
AMC Robotics Corporation (Nasdaq: AMCI) has appointed Dr. Ang Li as Chief Technology Officer, the company announced on Oct. 1, 2026.
Dr. Li will lead the company's technology strategy and AI roadmap, with a focus on autonomous intelligence, AI-powered perception, and edge computing across its robotics platforms. He will retain his position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park, while serving in the new role.
Before joining the University of Maryland in August 2023, Dr. Li worked as a Research Associate at Qualcomm AI Research and conducted research at Alibaba DAMO Academy. His academic work covers edge AI, distributed and federated learning, efficient AI systems, and embodied intelligence.
Dr. Li holds degrees from Henan University, Peking University, the University of Arkansas, and Duke University, where he earned a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. His research has received recognition including the NSF CAREER Award, the ACM KDD Best Student Paper Award, and the IEEE TCCPS Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award.
"AI is becoming increasingly central to the capabilities and differentiation of modern robotic systems," said Sean Da, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AMC Robotics, in a statement.
AMC Robotics produces a quadruped robotic platform called Kyro and a warehouse logistics sorting robot called NovaArm.
