AAON Inc. (NASDAQ: AAON) announced the promotion of Doug Wichman to executive vice president and general manager of its AAON Business Unit, effective January 1, 2026.
Wichman will oversee strategic business planning, product development, engineering operations, and customer support functions. He will also collaborate with sales and operations teams on system marketing, production, and procurement activities.
The executive replaces Stephen Wakefield, who will transition to a consultancy role as AAON Fellow and principal engineering advisor on the same date.
Wichman joined AAON in 2012 as a production and manufacturing engineer at the company's Tulsa facility. He progressed to plant manager and director of manufacturing before moving to lead the Longview, Texas facility four years ago. He returned to Tulsa this fall as vice president of business strategy and performance for the AAON Business Unit.
"Doug's professional growth during the past 13 years epitomizes the opportunity our company provides for team members," said Matt Tobolski, AAON president and CEO.
Wakefield will continue in an advisory capacity, drawing on more than 25 years of experience in operations, engineering, and product design. He previously served as a longtime leader within AAON and the HVAC industry.
The Tulsa-based company manufactures HVAC solutions for commercial and industrial applications. Founded in 1988, AAON designs configurable equipment for indoor climate control systems.
