A Munich district court ruled in favor of Infineon Technologies (OTCQX: IFNNY) in two patent infringement cases involving gallium nitride (GaN) technology against Chinese company Innoscience, according to a company press release.
The District Court Munich (Landgericht München I) issued rulings on June 18, 2026, covering one patent and one utility model. The court prohibited Innoscience from manufacturing, selling, and marketing the infringing products in Germany and ordered the company to pay damages to Infineon.
The rulings mark Innoscience's third and fourth legal defeats in a series of cases involving Infineon's GaN intellectual property. A prior German ruling was issued on August 1, 2025. On May 7, 2026, the Full Commission of the U.S. International Trade Commission also found that Innoscience had infringed an Infineon GaN patent. Additional proceedings remain pending in both the U.S. and Germany.
"Today's ruling demonstrates the value of our GaN portfolio and underscores our commitment to vigorously defending our intellectual property and promoting fair competition," said Johannes Schoiswohl, Senior Vice President and Head of Infineon's GaN Systems Business Line.
Infineon states it holds approximately 450 GaN patent families. The company reported revenue of approximately €14.7 billion in its fiscal year ending September 30, 2025, and employs around 57,000 people worldwide.
