Apple (AAPL) Looks to Bring Lawsuit Against Kodak (EKDKQ) Over Patent Infringement

We're not sure if they asked nicely, but Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) is aiming to sue Eastman Kodak (OTCBB: EKDKQ) over patent infringement.

According to reports Wednesday, Apple is asking the bankruptcy judge in the Kodak case for permission to file a complaint against the one-time venerable camera maker. Suits will be filed with the International Trade Commission and U.S. District Court in Manhattan.

Though Apple can file complaints at any time, it is seeking permission "out of an abundance of caution," it said in a filing.

Apple has said it was the true owner of image-preview technology used on digital camera, saying it developed a device in the early 1990s that used the technology and then showed that device to Kodak. Kodak has sued Apple and Research In Motion (Nasdaq: RIMM) over use of the technology.
