Investing.com -- U.S. stock futures signal a subdued start to trading in the final full session before Christmas, as investors await fresh data on the health of the U.S. economy.

  • Space-related stocks are under pressure after a strong three-day run. Intuitive Machines (NASDAQ: LUNR) is down about 5% in premarket trading, giving back part of the roughly 63% surge recorded over the previous three sessions. Firefly Aerospace (NASDAQ: FLY) is down 3.5%. The sector posted particularly strong gains on Friday after U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at promoting space exploration, but traders appear to be locking in profits ahead of the holiday period.

  • ZIM Integrated Shipping Services (NYSE: ZIM) is climbing nearly 10% before the open after the company said it continues to evaluate proposals from potential buyers. The update has revived takeover speculation around the stock, which has been volatile in recent months amid shifting freight rate expectations and consolidation talk in the container shipping industry.

  • Novo Nordisk A/S (NYSE: NVO) shares are up about 7% in early market trading after the company said it received U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for its Wegovy pill as an oral GLP-1 treatment. The company said weight loss achieved with the pill is similar to that of injectable Wegovy at the 2.4 mg dose, and it expects to launch the product in the U.S. in early January 2026.

  • Gold miners continue to benefit from strength in the underlying metal, with spot gold pushing to fresh record highs around $4,500 per ounce. Barrick Mining (NYSE: B) is up more than 1% in premarket trading, extending recent gains as investors maintain exposure to gold amid ongoing macro uncertainty and strong momentum in precious metals.
